Anna and Mommy go to Lawton, OK

Stacy (one of my closest friends from DC) recently moved to Lawton, OK, which is right on the Texas / OK border. We have been so anxious to go for a visit since she is so much closer! I decided to take Anna, thinking she would be the easier traveler and Stacy has not met her yet. So off we went. The morning went so smooth - I was feeling very proud of myself. Drove us to the airport, parked, and hopped on the shuttle with Anna, a car seat, a backpack, stroller, and a rolling bag. I was determined! Everything went so smooth and Anna had her own seat on the way up to Dallas. Then, when we landed in Dallas I received a call on my cell - my connecting flight to Lawton had been cancelled. I panicked and thought it had to be wrong - the screen still said on time. Well, turns out they were right - so we were stuck at DFW for 5 more hours waiting for the next flight. We had a nice little lunch at Chilis and then I found a children's play area - SCORE! She had a blast - and blew out two diapers (thank goodness we were not on the plane for those).

After a little while we strolled around so she could take a little snooze. The time went pretty fast and before we knew it we were off on the next flight. Anna had her own seat again! Yay!

The calm before the storm....
Right from the start, this plane ride was ROUGH! I get really bad motion sickness so I kept handing books and Anna and trying to keep her happy while I was taking deep breaths. Then she really wanted me to hold her...and seconds later the vomit started. And did not end for the rest of the flight. I just hugged her (covered on vomit myself at this point) and tried to keep her calm. It was my worst nightmare, but you know what - we made it. So what that we walked off the plane covered in vomit and Anna was only in a diaper. We survived! It definitely was a ride to remember.....anyway we were SO excited to see Stacy and the boys. It was so great to see her new home and where they live. We talk all the time so now I have a better picture in my mind of where she is! Anna slept great there and had the best time playing with the boys. We went to an amazing playscape on base and the kids had a great time.  Stacy is an AMAZING cook, and we had some AMAZING meals while we were there. We also had time to hit up the Exchange store on base - and we did a little damage :). Anna had a great time with Isaac and Luke and loved playing the boys in the backyard. I did not get enough pictures, but managed to capture a few one day. Anna and Luke played in the bath together too - it was precious!

The trip home was SO much better and Anna did a great job. I was DREADING the flights, but she was great. Thank you to the Acevedos for a great trip!!!! Now it is their turn to come see us :).....maybe they will drive...ha!

Brad's 30th Birthday!

We were SO excited to celebrate Brad's 30th birthday!!! We dropped the babies off in the morning with GoGo and headed down the Cain and Abel's on the Lake for a couple of drinks before heading out onto the lake! Heather rented a pontoon boat for Brad's birthday and there was a great group of their friends that came to help celebrate. It was such a fun day and flew by so fast! Heather made John Daly's - YUM YUM! After the boat we all headed over to the east side to Shuck Shack. We ate yummy food and played horseshoes. Unfortunately, I was so full and tired and I bailed right after dinner. I did hear some funnies stories and know that they had a great rest of the night. Happy Birthday to my favorite and best brother, Brad!

Something was funny!

Whidbey, Day 6 - Kayaking

We were bound and determined to go kayaking this trip and had already borrowed a friends kayak. We waited until too late in the trip and the fog started to roll in, but it always burned off after a few hours so off to went to Bowman's Bay! We packed up lunches and snacks for the kiddos and headed up north. There is another great playground which was great because we took turns watching the kids while two of us kayaked. Tyson and I went first - I was SO nervous. But it was so much fun and I really enjoyed being out in the ocean. I wouldn't let us go too far because of the fog and I didn't want to get lost! Nonna and Tyson went next and were probably more adventurous as Nonna is quite the expert and has kayaked here before. It was such a fun day!!!
Hugs! Ready to go kayaking!
Headed down to put the boat in the water
Daddy giving lessons :)
We can totally do this!
He is READY!

It was such a great trip with so many memories that were made! We are looking forward to the next trip!

Whidbey, Day 5 - The Beach

Another beautiful day! The day started with Nonna and Davis heading to the mailbox to check the mail. He loved wearing a matching hat with her - it was so cute!

We decided to take a little walk and head down to City Beach. It was so beautiful and they had amazing playground, which was the highlight for the kids.
Doesn't she look so big!

Faster Nonna! ( and I will vouch this is quite the leg workout)
Snack time...of course Anna is on the table
Bunny, check. Sippy cup, check.
Love this picture

After a great morning on the beach, we spent the afternoon in the backyard (we couldn't get enough) and  swam in the baby pool. I captured some great photos, but the babies are naked so I don't want to post them. They really are hilarious though, so e-mail me if you want to see some :). There was lots of sliding into the pool, riding on the car, and playing with the water guns!

Whidbey, Day 4 - Backyard Party!

Anna took 2 naps most everyday on our trip so it was a little tough to get too much done outside the house with her schedule. Sunday was a beautiful day which started and ended in the backyard. The weather was amazing that morning and we had our coffee outside and the kids played. It was so wonderful. We did go back to the Art and Crafts festival for a little bit to finish browsing at all the booths that we missed. Anna got a bunny from Rita's shop, which she instantly was attracted to. It is her official lovey and it goes a lot of places with us these days. That afternoon we planned to have the Robinett family over for a little backyard fun and pizza! It was a great time and the chaos was definitely flowing from having 4 little ones running around and getting into everything. Nonna was so helpful and had quite the spread for us. Sheila came by for just a bit to say hi and it was great to see her. It was another great day!!!!

Whidbey, Day 3 - Coupeville Arts and Crafts Festival

* I completely forgot to mention something so funny from the trip! Davis, from a young age, has been able to say Nonna. He always calls her Nonna and it stuck right from the beginning. Since we showed up on the Island, he insisted that her name was Noda (and sometimes it sounded like Nada). It was really cute and he would say Noda this and Noda that. Who knows how long it will last!

On Saturday, we woke up, went on a great run, and headed over to Coupeville. As we were parallel parking, a woman flew out of her driveway and ran right into us. It was so frustrating, but Tyson was so calm and took care of everything while we headed to the festival. It was so fun and we ran into the Robinetts almost right away. This is when Davis and Mikey because best buds!

It was pretty darn hot there and trying to feed these munchkins was quite the task, but they had such a great food and drinks (especially the bubble tea!). Anna and Dylan rode in the stroller together for a while while we shopped around.

Davis was having the best time playing as at nap time got closer he had a MAJOR meltdown. He did NOT want to leave. He literally screamed the whole way home. Ugh. Anyway, we played in the back yard and that evening Tyson and I went out with Ben and Kim without the kiddos! Noda was babysitting and did a great job. We had a very special evening with them and celebrated their wedding, which we were not able to attend. It was a great day!
